What's Changing In Fulshear This Fall, And What It Means For Your Saturday

August 6, 2026

If you have lived in Fulshear for more than a year or two, you already know the map by heart. FM 1093 is the spine. Cross Creek Ranch and Cross Creek West sit north, Fulshear Lakes and Weston Lakes south, and until recently the interesting new storefronts were scattered thin enough that a single errand run could feel like a road trip.

That is the piece that is quietly ending this fall.

Fulshear's commercial center of gravity is consolidating into three anchor hubs within a two-mile stretch of FM 1093 and Texas Heritage Parkway, and the fall event calendar is the first season built around that new geography.

The three hubs redrawing the map

The largest of them is Texas Heritage Marketplace, the 165-acre NewQuest Properties project at I-10 and Texas Heritage Parkway. The tenant list is now specific enough to plan around. America's Best Eyeglasses & Contacts, Milano Nail Spa, Aji Izakaya, EoS Fitness, Whataburger, The Kebab Shop, Kilwins and Escalante's are confirmed, with Target as the anchor and permits filed for Lowe's and Sam's Club. That is a full errand-and-dinner loop under one address, which Fulshear has never really had inside its own city limits.

Two miles west, Founders Hill Retail Center is on a much faster timeline than most residents realize. Main Street Commercial Partners expects to begin construction on the 33-acre mixed-use hub by the end of the year and be ready for tenants in late summer 2026, at 30200 FM 1093, combining retail, dining and entertainment with office space, shaded courtyards, bike-friendly walkways and 5 acres of greenspace. The greenspace piece is the tell. This is designed to hold a crowd, not just move one through a parking lot.

The third piece is Fulshear Central, on the south side of FM 1093 at Texas Heritage Parkway. Construction started on June 5, and the complex is anticipated to feature 70,000 square feet of retail space, 55,000 square feet of office condos and a boutique hotel. A boutique hotel is the detail worth pausing on. Until now, out-of-town family visiting Fulshear residents have booked in Katy or off the Grand Parkway. That changes.

What is already open, or about to be

While the big projects are still fenced off, the smaller stuff has been landing all year and will keep landing through the fall.

  • Serene Head Spa and Wellness opened at 28840 FM 1093, Ste. 140, adding a category that did not really exist in town before.
  • School of Rock-Fulshear at 6511 Skyline Drive, Ste. 100 gives kids a music program without the drive to Katy.
  • Celebree School of Cross Creek Ranch, at 6511 Skyline Drive, brought early childhood capacity online earlier this year.
  • A new H-E-B opened in late 2025 at the intersection of Texas Heritage Parkway and Jordan Crossing Boulevard, and H-E-B also owns land less than 3 miles south of Cross Creek West at the southeast corner of FM 1093 and Fulshear Trace, according to Fort Bend County property tax records, though a construction timeline has not been shared.

If you are keeping score, that is grocery, kids' enrichment, wellness, and eventually a second grocery, all within the same fall you are reading this.

The fall calendar at a glance

The event slate has thickened to match the new commercial footprint. A few of the anchors:

When What Where
Every Saturday, 9am–1pm Fulshear Farmers' Market 9035 Bois D'Arc Ln
Aug 13 Silver Belle Assisted Living rope cutting Silver Belle, Fulshear
Early October Fulshear's Folly, fall concert weekend City of Fulshear
Thursday–Sunday, ongoing Live music nights Saltgrass Fulshear
Ongoing Cars & Caffeine Ultimate '80s

Two of these deserve a closer look. Fulshear's Folly is being reignited as a fall concert and family friendly weekend, featuring a live concert, food, drinks, and shopping; in the 1940s, residents came together every Fourth of July for a barbecue and picnic, and the tradition was officially named Fulshear's Folly in 1978, now revived by the City and set for the beginning of October. A summer tradition rebuilt as a fall one is a small thing that says a lot about who the town is planning for now.

The Farmers' Market is the other one. The Fulshear Farmers' Market at 9035 Bois D'Arc Ln offers produce, meats, baked goods, and local artisans every Saturday from 9:00 am–1:00 pm. When Founders Hill opens next summer with its own greenspace and courtyards, the market will have real competition for the Saturday-morning slot. Whether it stays where it is or migrates is one of the more interesting questions to watch through the fall.

A Saturday that uses the new geography

Here is one way the new pieces fit together in a single day, without leaving the 1093 corridor:

  1. Coffee and produce at the Fulshear Farmers' Market on Bois D'Arc, 9am.
  2. A drop-in at Cars & Caffeine at Ultimate '80s if the kids are into it. The Fulshear Regional Chamber recently held a rope cutting with the West Enders Car Club during the popular Fulshear Cars & Caffeine gathering at Ultimate '80s, which gives you a sense of the crowd size.
  3. Lunch at Local Spot, Grazia Craft Kitchen, Luchi & Joey's, Airi Ramen, Campomar, or the Kilani Food Hall. Yelp's own list of newer Fulshear restaurants runs deeper than most residents realize.
  4. An afternoon at Texana Cafe. Texana Book Market & Open Mic is set for Sat 08 Aug 2026 from 11:00 AM onwards at Texana Cafe, Fulshear, and the cafe runs similar events on a rolling basis.
  5. Dinner at Anthonie's Market Grill in Simonton, a short drive west. In cozy proximity to I-10, Katy, and the Energy Corridor, Anthonie's is an indoor/outdoor concept with ancient wood planked walls, polished concrete floors, an open kitchen and a massive patio with superb sunset views, plus a well-appointed bar, fire pit and live music.
  6. Or, if you would rather stay closer, Saltgrass Fulshear hosts local artists Thursday through Sunday.

The point of the loop is not that any single stop is new. It is that all of them, strung together, are now doable without crossing into Katy.

The one thing to watch through October

The overlooked storyline this fall is not any single opening. It is the pace. Three commercial projects of very different sizes are on timelines that end within twelve months of each other. Fulshear Lakes Town Center is under construction off of FM 1093 and expected to be ready for tenants at the end of this year, layered on top of Founders Hill, Fulshear Central, and the Texas Heritage Marketplace build-out.

For residents, the practical effect is that FM 1093 traffic patterns are going to keep shifting through the fall as each site adds curb cuts, signals, and construction entrances. The stretch between Cross Creek Bend Lane and Texas Heritage Parkway is the one to plan around. If your Saturday route currently runs through that stretch at peak market hours, expect it to feel different by November than it did in August.

Why any of this matters if you already live here

You did not move to Fulshear because it was crowded. It is fair to feel some ambivalence about a town that adds a boutique hotel, a Target, and a Lowe's inside a single planning cycle.

The counterweight is that the additions are, so far, the kind that keep residents in town instead of pulling them out of it. A head spa, a music school, a second grocery, an October concert weekend, a book market at a local cafe: these are things a mature community adds, not the anonymous strip retail that would flatten the place. The events calendar, in particular, keeps leaning on Fulshear-specific traditions. The Folly is a 1940s picnic rebuilt for a 2026 audience. That is not a coincidence.

If you have been in Fulshear long enough to remember when 1093 west of Cross Creek Bend was still mostly pasture, this fall is the season to walk the new sidewalks, try the openings while they are still quiet, and decide which of them earn a place in your regular rotation before the winter crowds figure them out.
